A Golden Host of Daffodils

This quilt was the result of a workshop with Ann Fahl at Asilomar in Spring, 2008. The design was sketched from my photos of daffodils - my favorite flower - and raw edge appliquéd on a pieced ground.

The flowers, leaves and stems were free motion thread painted with various variegated rayon threads and then hand beaded.

The three dimensional Monarch butterfly (chosen for it's migration stop near to Asilomar in Pacific Grove) was free motion thread painted on silk organza and
stabilizer and attached
