There's A Summer Place...

This is a small landscape quilt begun in Karen Eckmeier's class "Accidental Landscapes" at International Quilt Festival/ Long Beach in
July 2009.

Fabrics are free cut into curves with a rotary cutter, a narrow seam allowance is pressed in and then the fabrics are layered top to bottom to form a landscape.

Back in my studio I added borders as well as some applique' ,thread work and free motion quilting. The border was fused applique'd with seashells which were then hand beaded with natural shell and faux pearl beads.
