Talk To The Animals

2007

Made for the granddaughter of a good friend, this quilt combined a wonderful collection of calligraphic animals in my own version of a traditional setting.

The animal look like early 19th century calligraphic exercise drawings and were all stitched out in brown rayon thread and then set into on-point squares using a collection of contemporary commercial cottons in browns,
pinks and acid green.
The quilt was free motion quilted on a domestic machine.
